Role: Product Design Manager

Lead and manage the user experience team responsible for all Partner Platform Apps (30+). Drive the strategy for new feature development. The team drives the user experience for a large range of applications and services from Developer to Publisher to Internal Operations. The team also maintains and governs the Partner Design System.

Business Opportunity

Deliver and provide management of content on PS4 and PS5 supported experiences for PlayStation Partners and internal team members. Streamline content input, engagement, and management across multiple devices. Support all regions and individual country markets with consumer content, pricing, tax, promotion, etc. in order to drive and operate the PlayStation storefront as well as PlayStation supported features. Support the PS5 feature set enhancements, including Game Hub.

 


 

Solution

All content on the PS5/PS4 console, web, mobile is powered by the tools within the Partner Platform (consisting of 30+ apps working together).

The team researched, designed, prototyped, iterated, and delivered features that improved time to market for publishing content, managing game vouchers, game content such as media, compatibility notices, age ratings, and content auditing support for internal teams to have editorial control over the content. We also created the ability to update pricing and availability including the agility to swiftly make tax rate changes across broad groups, and many more. All were aimed to give control of Partner content, visibility into where their content stood, and ability to adjust. Because the partner experience is heavily intertwined and complicated, we are currently redefining the user journey in addition to taking a strong stance on universal governance support across all Partner and Internal apps.

The goal I accomplished was to turn the team from an isolated, disempowered group of individuals into a high-performing, highly collaborative team that confidently lead new features, in addition to gaining organizational commitment to abide by a higher set of UX standards, across the board.

I also mobilized the team to solidify and unify the use of the Partner Design System, working across the organization with senior leaders in product and engineering and other design team members to adopt the design system across 30+ Partner experience applications.

All of the team’s hard work contributed to the most successful console launch in history (PS5).
